My name is Ronke Adeniyi, fondly known as RonkePosh. The rest of my profile I assume you have already read.
Can you say a quick hello so I know I’m not speaking to myself? βœ‹πŸΎ
πŸ‘‹πŸΎ, right here with you ma’am.

Responses
Thank you all for being here.
Hello and Welcome on board
Tonight, I have been asked to come and rub minds with great educators. It is indeed an honour. Thank you Mr Ben.
I will be chatting to you all about Self development and Creativity.
I will start with a question?
In *one sentence only* can you tell me what you understand by self development and Creativity when it comes to Education?

Responses
Developing oneself creatively
Advancing in ur creativity
Upgrading oneself
Improvement in what you have learnt and go beyond the boundery
One can be creative through different teaching methods
Constantly seeking to do same things in different ways without been boring
Doing things beyond what is regarded as normal way,in order to achieve better results.
Ability to explore the latent and inert potential skills in oneself through critical brainstorming
Self development as an educator i believe is when u do things to develop yourself
Expose yourself to something new
And creativity is to think outside d box
I stand to be corrected anyway
It’s d ability to move with d time & thinking outside d box.
Self development and creativity I will say to mean taking time to consciously develop or better yourself by learning and unlearning through acquiring of new skills

Brilliant!
I love where you say *learning and unlearning*

Self development is a means of developing yourself as an individual by learning every day on the things that will make you a unique person.
Self development means “adding value to one self. Creativity is putting all your senses to work in order to achieve something.
Self development is tapping into the ability deposited in man
In my opinion self development an creativity is a conscious effort to add value or make deposit on self so we can do things differently.
Self development to me is improving on one’s present level to a higher level using new ideas.
My abilities to continuously on develop myself and improve my professional practices, enabling me with innovative ideas on how to get better.
Amazing responses!
And you are all correct!
When I was invited to come and talk to teachers/educators, I sat and pondered about the subject I would discuss. It seemed so challenging.
Why?
I was keen to talk about something relevant to Rachael ms everyone of us. For us to be on a platform like this one implies to me that we want *growth* which is brilliant.
There is a saying that if *you are not growing then you are dying*.
We need to grow in all areas of our lives.
There needs to be congruence between our inner man and the jobs we have chosen for our lives.

Responses
It is growth, working on oneself for continuous growth, improvement for better productivity. Creativity has to do with dynamism
It’s self discovery, being able to identity your God given abilities and benefiting mankind with it.
Ability to explore the latent and inert potential skills in oneself through critical brainstorming
Self development is when you refuse to be limited
It’s d ability to move with d time & thinking outside d box.
There are several ways that we can develop ourselves and we are clearly all on that journey.
There is another saying that says that we cannot give what we do not have.
As a result of the above, we need to ensure that our *tanks* are always full so we have enough to give.
We all have three parts to our being or you can call it three states, *our conscious, unconscious and subconscious self*
We are all aware of these right?

Responses
Yes
Very correct.

Tonight I want us to be conscious of our inner man as educators.
The results we get are proportional to the condition of our inner man.
Often times, we can be overwhelmed with work, family, life and all else.
A number of us have had a lot of experiences, good and not so great as children.
The things we do today are as a result of our experiences, our childhood, our environment and emotional experiences we have had.
I will not be talking about developing skills such as IT skills, teaching styles, diction etc because I know we all try to do these things.
There is usually an enemy within. An old proverb says that the enemy outside can do us not harm if we have not enemy within.
Many of us sabotage ourselves because we often do not believe enough in ourselves, we fear taking on new challenges because of the fear of failure or even success.
We often take steps that are easy and comfortable to we don’t crash and fall.
Responses
Ride on ma!πŸ‘
Hmmmm true talk

I want to encourage is all to pay attention to that inner man because the results we get are simply because of whom we have become.
You are doing a great job yet you find you are unhappy.
Are you unhappy with your job?
Are you unhappy with your results?
Do you belief you can do *so much more?*
Totally agreed, most people go into the teaching profession without adequate preparation and purging ourselves of all prejudices and making up our mind to embrace creativity

I and a recent experience where I hired someone who was very keen to work with me, to cut the long story short; when she was given the job she was unable to do the job.
This was not because she didn’t have the skills but because she was afraid of both failure and success.
She was afraid she would not do the job well, she was intimidated by the environment and she was afraid to change her paradigm.

Responses
If our output is a result of who we are inside, what can be done to improve that part of us?
Pertinent questions,l must say!
Self sabotage and inferiority complex at work.
Really reality
We are all capable of doing so much more.
So now, you may be thinking or asking, so why am I not getting better results or doing much more than I am already doing?
There are several principle we need to learn which we cannot cover tonight.
I will touch on a few.
Many of us have our skeletons in our cupboards, our secrets fears and addictions.
Our hurt and our pain.
We often are scared however we live in denial
We say we are doing well, we say *it is well*
We power the cracks as opposed to revealing it all so we can get the healing we want.
What has all these got to do with education you might be wondering?

It has EVERYTHING to do with education and even our lives.
We need to begin to address the hurt and pain, the abuse (physical, sexual, verbal, neglect, financial), the addictions, the rape, the habits such as alcoholism, drunkenness, masturbation, pornography, incest, shopping, use of abusive words, superiority or inferiority complex amongst others.
Can you add to the list some of the hidden challenges many of us have?

Responses
Low self-esteem
Lack of self belief, low self esteem, fear of failure and comfort zone syndrome
Bitterness, un happiness and not meeting up an expected life’s target.
Lack of self confidence
Scarcity mindset
Imitation of others and struggle and search for perfectionism .
Doubt in our ability,
Fear of the unknown
Discouragement
Lack of vision or purpose for living, just following the bandwagon,

Until we begin to deal with the pain and the hurt, until we begin to forgive we won’t begin our recovery process.
Please note my emphasis on *begin*.
This is a *journey* hence it can take longer for some. It however starts with a *decision*.

Feeling cheated
Can I cheap in a personal experience about ‘begin’
Good thought
Learning not to blame others for our fall
Sometimes last year I discovered I was weighing 85kg. So I decided to “begin” to work on it. I felt discouraged during the first month because despite the fact that I “began” the weight loss process I was not getting the result I wanted but I kept on with weight loss journey
Using my BMI to judge,I am supposed to be between 60 and 65kg. Earlier this year I was glad when I checked and it was 69kg.
Yes ma, excusing ourselves from our failures robs us of our future growth. We should take responsibility of both our weaknesses & our successes knowing fully well that we are responsible for whatever happens to us, good or bad

Wowww. Seriously following
Then I said to myself,” Layo u r almost there”
Just Begin,Start and Keep moving………
So you see, I’m not here to talk about the physical skills we ought to learn to teach our children or grow our schools.
That will happen when we make our inner man beautiful.
When we clean house.
When we say *NO* to self sabotage.
When we deal with the inner man, we begin to perform at our optimum, we forgive enough to love ❀, to love our selves first (remember) we can’t give whY we don’t have, we love the children we teach, the places we work and as a result give it our very best.
We will automatically seek ways to be creative, to make life better for ourselves and children we work with.
We won’t need to be told to improve our punctuality, mark scripts, come in early, improve our diction, complete our lesson plans, visit classrooms, work in the best interest of the children and schools.
What we do will be positive because we have cleaned house and dealt with the inner man.
You know a demon is also defined as something that makes you say *yes* when you mean to say *no*
Often times, the demon within stifles our growth and creativity.

WoW! πŸ‘πŸΏπŸ‘πŸΏπŸ‘πŸΏπŸ‘πŸΏ
That’s a massive acheivement.
I’m glad to loved yourself enough to *begin*
You’re very right. Because it’s then you can be happy, move-on and be focus in our plans
Because people only follow leaders that are stronger than themselves. Remember those young ones are watching and copying us their LEADERS. I’m enjoy this Ronke continue. Great you

I’ve spent my hour and I won’t want to keep you too long.

I will round up by saying that when we seek to develop ourselves, we should begin now with our inner man if we are not already doing that.
We should begin the journey of self discovery.
Be the change that you want to see.
Push boundaries, stand out even if you are the only one.
Just do it.
It has its rewards.
Dare to be different.
Do not conform always.
Be your unique self and all else will fall in place.
Look back, open that wardrobe, bring out those skeletons and bury them.
Whatever or however it is that you are sabotaging yourself, begin to deal with it.
If you cannot do it alone, get someone who can even if you have to pay for it.
I wish you well is your journey of self discovery, self development and creativity.
I thank you for your time and your participation.

I hope it has been useful to you or enlightening.

Thank you so much Mr EBen for having me.
God bless you all.
I will answer questions before I say my final goodbye for today.🌝

You need to recognise that those people who hurt you or disappointed you, did it with the best intentions.
What they did, they did from the abundance of what they know/knew? All based on the resources available to them.
We know better so we do better.
If they knew better, they would have done better.
Hmmmmm, if u cannot do it alone get some one who can even if u have to pay for it.
πŸ‘. Thank you sooooooo much ma.
Many thanks for this platform, I am going to go through the notes more carefully to sniff all in.

Before you sleep tonight, Expand your comfort zone.

People are often stuck in their comfort zone and afraid to try new things in life. That can be a huge problem because when we have the same routine β€” our creativity will just die. We need to change things and allow different adventures to boost our creativity.
